What a great evening! Friends, family, tradition, stories - this day had it all. So happy to celebrate Noah and Rachel. Cheers to all!
Lovely day in Mystic, CT! Gabe’s best friend’s son is getting married and we’re delighted to be here. Last night we dined at the famous Mystic Pizza and strolled along the water. So beautiful and relaxing!
Glad to speak with my dad for a few minutes today. Ours has always been a complicated relationship but I think that’s the nature of most father-daughter situations, right? I’ll choose to hold onto the good moments as I try to release the painful ones. As a wise friend once told me, “Life is hard, people are complicated. Do your best.” Happy Father’s Day, Dad. I’m doing my best.
For #roséday I’m remembering a delicious wine I tasted at @terre_margaritelli in Torgiano, Italy last week. We sipped this lovely brut rosé sparkler made from Sangiovese grapes via the Martinotti method. She’s called Thadea, after the secret daughter of Emperor Charles V and a Peruvian noblewoman. Lots of cherry fruit on the nose along with floral notes. The palate is fresh and dry, with high acid and cherry-berry flavors. Did I mention we sipped this in the vineyards at sunset? More to come on the other wines we tasted, and background on the property, which is committed to organic farming. Cheers everyone!
