Ahhhh! Kicking back with my sister, sister-in-law, and niece, enjoying a Blue Moon. Somehow seems right for the weekend vibe. Cheers!
Super-cute patisserie opened just two blocks away: @patisserievanessa has all the tasty French treats, including my personal favorite, canelé! You’ll want to linger over a coffee or tea, indulging in conversation that’s just as delicious as the pastries. Ooh La La!
What a beautiful book by @randycaparoso.wineauthor - can’t wait to dig in! Encyclopedic in its depth, it’s also a lovely invitation to all wine lovers to learn more about Lodi wine.
It’s #earthday and I’m inspired to post some photos from my sister’s home, which used to be my grandparents’ home and where my mom grew up. As we navigated the days after our father’s passing, small signs of life and rebirth warmed my heart.
Tough day for my sister and me yesterday: we cleaned out our dad’s clothes and personal effects from his room at the assisted living facility. Sucked big-time, but there was some sunshine at the end of our day. We stopped by the @totalwine in Claymont to look around.
We lost our dad early Monday morning, after a few tough weeks. I’m so glad we were able to celebrate his 85th bday in January with him, when he was still able to joke with us and enjoy his cake. The incredible staff at Wilmington Hospital supported all of us as things became more difficult. Lots of memories flooding my thoughts but front of mind is how he taught me to drive a stick shift when I was 14, eventually letting me drive us home from my track practice. Mike Walsh was a rule-breaker of the best kind, a lesson I try to remember. Godspeed, Dad. Be at peace. Don’t forget about us down here.
